Inaugural Relay For Life 2003.
This site was created to acknowledge those who have been touched by cancer.
Early 2003,the Queensland Cancer Fund in Townsville, contacted the group Puawai Aroha to perform during the inaugural Relay for Life. The group had limited its public engagements during 2001 due to members with cancer including co-Puawai Aroha founder Lucy Thompson.
Family and friends of Puawai Aroha got together and not only performed, but also entered a team during the relay, raising a total of $1500.00.

Relay for Life is a team event to raise funds for the Queensland Cancer Fund. It's 18 hours of fun, with the challenge of completing a relay style walk/run at the Townsville sports reserve and also at other venues across the state.
